Whitewater rafting We’ll depart San José early morning, stop for breakfast on the way. Once at the river, our guides will load your gear into dry bags, prepare the equipment and give you complete safety and paddle instructions. The first day’s Class III rapids welcome you to the Pacuare gorge’s charm as you raft deep in the heart of primary forest. While your guides prepare you a hearty picnic lunch on the riverbank, you'll be led through the jungle to an enchanting waterfall and pool to swim. Then we’ll continue paddling, before you know it, you'll arrive at the lodge where you can spend the afternoon relaxing, hiking or soaking in our waterfall and pools. Nestled in the jungle on our 1,000-acre private reserve, the lodge offers you all the comforts you need in "Cabecar Indian" style bungalows. Private rooms are spacious with clean linen, and modern bathrooms and showers. Whitewater rafting After a hearty breakfast and loading the rafts, you'll prepare to paddle down the Pacuare gorge past gushing waterfalls, serene pools and pounding rapids. A snack stop by the riverside lets you explore more waterfalls and natural waterslides. An adrenaline-packed afternoon running rapids will have you cheering ecstatically. Hot lunch will be served at our New Ríos Tropicales Operations Center. Showers, changing rooms, cold and hot drinks and snacks are also available. Canopy tour After breakfast, shuttle transfer from San José to Arenal. Early afternoon we will pick you up to enjoy the amazing Canopy Tour: with 18 cables & platforms (2 kilometers of cables). Sliding down from one platform to another, throughout the private reserve, each section between platforms is a unique experience, full of adventure. Later return to hotel. Horseback riding After breakfast we will be ready for Horseback riding: we’ll drive to a farm to pick up our horses. We will horse ride for 1-½ hours and then we will hike to a nearby waterfall: at its base there is a “natural pool” where we can swim for about one hour. Arrival to our hotel at noon. Early afternoon we will pick you up and take you to active Arenal Volcano, from time to time the eruptions are accompanied with powerful thunders, the event will be astounding. We will do some hike on this area. Then will take you to famous Tabacon Resort: with its lavish grounds and natural hot springs of the volcano, where you can relax in the calming waters meanwhile at the distance the volcano will produce its magnificent views. The Tabacon River flows through the beautiful garden, forming hot mineral water pools and waterfalls reaching temperatures of 102F, certainly it is a memorable experience. Dinner at the resort.
